Меня такое поведение никак не напрягает (функция срабатывает, и хорошо), просто интересно, как всё-таки должно быть на самом деле.

Тут, в детальном описании этой функции, ничего не пишется про 30 секунд. Но где-то это вскользь встречается, щас не могу найти. В мануале этого точно нет.
