Hi guys, I own many European and JDM citizen watches (and I am a Citizen reseller in Europe) and from my experiece and knowledge I can tell that Duratect is a hardening coating used exclusively on some (not all) JDM citizen and Campanola watches. It's so hard that you actually have much less scratches after wearing the watch for years. Ti+IP is a whitening technique that is used to lighten the metal and is not a hardening treatment. In europe the lightning technique is called "Ti.C.C." and is perhaps a bit different.

If your watch is Duratect, it will have the word etched in the case back.

It is absolutely noticable in dealy wear, and completely unlogical why Citizen doesn't use it for Export watches.

About the Sapphire/Crystal: European/USA models have 'Sapphire' on the dial or on the caseback when the watch has one. JDM however never have it noted either on dial or caseback. But you can be sure almost all JDM models have been equipped with sapphire. JDM models are 99% of the time superiorly build.
