Новинка от VULCAIN - Cricket Diver X-TREME. Механизм с ручным заводом снабженный функцией будильника Cricket V-10 сыграл большую роль в истории компании. Сегодня относительно редкий механизм под модным циферблатом облачен в современный корпус с претензией на причастие к миру икстрима. На мой взгяд, заявка DIVER довольно поспешная: водозащита 100 метров, шкала безеля двунаправленная внутренняя оперируемая головкой в положении 9 часов, которую возможно будет не слишком удобно отворачивать в полном водолазном снаряжении. Из оригинальных решений можно выделить шкалу будильника размеченную 20-ти минутными интервалами. Гамма исполнений часов простирается от стали, титана до золота.

Some pics of the new Vulcains ....

Starting with the Divers (for many who have asked ...)

The new Nautical (Black dial, 42mm SS Case), a re-issue of the famous 1961.

Comes in 3 dial colours - Black, Dark Blue and White and pink gold case.

Triple case back acting as a resonance chamber and ensuring the water-resistance down to 300 meters / 990 feet.
Inside housed the Calibre V-10, hand wound with 42 hours of power reserve.

A side view....signed crowns...and the triple case-back. Slightly thicker than those models which have 100m/330ft rating (can be compared to the Diver X-treme).

Anti-glare dome sapphire crystal ...expensive to make!

The buckle would be nicer if it is more chunky, more macho and looks tougher for a Diver.

Now for the new 2008 Diver X-Treme ...

This piece is of the combination of Black Titanium & steel  Black dial  Rubber strap, REF : 101924.160RF.

This 44mm Diver X-Treme comes with another 2 dial colour - silver and black with yellow (will be shown below).

The alarm time could be adjusted to about the twenty-minute period (see the inner most ring on the dial) indicated by the figures 10, 30 and 50.

The screw-down crown at 9'o clock position is for setting inner bi-directional bezel.

A bright lume shot...

Only the body (with the lugs) are blackened titanium...the bezel and the side plates are SS.

Side profile....the alarm crown is marked differerently (the pusher is protected by the screw-down lock).
The straps felt a little thin. Very comfortable to wear.

Observe the thickness (with the double caseback), it is thinner than the Nautical at 14.30mm . Crystal is domed and anti-glared.
Internally housed the Calibre V-10 (same as the Nautical), hand wound with power reserve of 42 hours.

This is the white-dial.

This is most attractive with black & yellow dial.
A point to note, the hour markers from hour 4 to 8 are not superluminova-coated.

One of the 3 Olympic Games Series. This piece is the " Long Jump".

The other two are "The Discus Thrower" and "The Runner". Comes in either WG or RG. Each model/precious metal of 28 pieces.

The Cloisonné craft is very well-done here
Observe the thin gold wires with the extra touch of shading defining the muscles of the athelete...truly the work of a very skilled artisan.

18K pink gold case- "The Dragon" cloisonné enamel dial  REF : 100508.181L
Only 30 are made.

Signed crowns with Vulcain logos. The gold case is 42 mm diameter.

Inside, it contains the rhodium-plated Calibre V-13 alarm movement which gives a 15 to 20 seconds alarm and 42 hours of power reserve.

Double case back acting as a resonance chamber and ensuring the water-resistance down to 100 meters / 330 feet.

A closer look at the beautiful Cloisonné enamel dial ...

Observe the outlines were thin gold wires....before the paint was applied and fired at extreme temperature of about 800 degree celsius by the skilful artisan.
Many iteration and possibly rejected pieces to have 30 really good pieces.
Enameling skill is an 'endangered skill'...so this good art could be a rarity soon.

The five-clawed dragon is the symbol of the Chinese Emperor. It depicts absolute power.

VULCAIN ANNIVERSARY HEART 150TH ANNIVERSARY LIMITED EDITION

Silver-dial Stainless Steel case VULCAIN ANNIVERSARY HEART 150TH ANNIVERSARY LIMITED EDITION REF : 180128.175LF For the 42mm steel case, there are 3 dials variations - silver, black and copper. Each dial has 150 pieces. So total will be 450 pieces.

Likewise for the 42mm pink gold case has 3 dial-variations too - silver, black and charcoal. Each dial is limited to 50 pieces. Total will be 150 pieces.

A good start. There's still room for improvement for the finishing on the movement on the dial side.
For the screws, they should be truly blued.

The Calibre V18. 157 components with twin barrels ensuring a power reserve of 42 hours and a 15 to 20 seconds alarm.
Equipped with the Exactomatic system which supposedly to provide regular amplitude thus better accuracy.

The striker on the movement hits the casing to produce the alarm sound.

The case, in titanium and 18kt rose gold, measures 44mm X 16mm. Both crystals are sapphire and it is water resistant to 100 meters.
Movement is the Vulcain in-house Cricket caliber V-16, hand-wound, with 17 jewels, beating at 18,000 bph and with a power reserve of 42 hours. The caliber V-16 is equipped with two barrels ensuring a long power reserve and an alarm lasting around 20 seconds. It is also fitted with the Vulcain Exactomatic system guaranteeing regular amplitude and enhanced rating precision. Comprising 191 parts, the caliber V-16 drives the central hour, minute and seconds hands, as well as an alarm function, window-type date display and 24-hour world-time indication adjustable using the screw-locked crown at 4 oclock.
It is available on a vulcanised rubber or water-protected leather strap with a titanium and 18kt rose gold deployant.

Vulcain Anniversary Heart

Швейцарская мануфактура Vulcain решила продолжить свою традицию дарить новоизбранному президенту США эксклюзивные часы. Новая версия Vulcain Anniversary Heart будет презентована Бараку Обаме в день его инаугурации в январе.
Однако часы были созданы не только в честь инаугурации нового президента США, но и в честь празднования 150-летнего юбилея бренда Vulcain. Корпус Vulcain Anniversary Heart изготовлен таким образом, что раскрывает часть часового механизма из 157 деталей Vulcain Cricket V-18. Часы будут выпущены в двух версиях: с корпусом из стали или 18-каратного розового золота с разными цветовыми решениями ремешка.
Ожидается, что в продажу эта модель поступит сразу после инаугурации и ее цена будет варьироваться от $6500 до $23000 в зависимости от версии.
