LA CHAUX-DE-FONDS, March 2016 – HAUTLENCE announces a new collaboration with Vida Loca Choppers, a Swiss company known for customising motorbikes. Together, the companies have designed a new 28 pieces limited edition timepiece: HAUTLENCE Vida Loca Choppers.
The watch has a titanium 42 x 49 x14 mm case with a 50 meters water resistance in case of an accidental fall into a swimming pool. The automatic mechanical movement is a Dubois Dépraz chronograph on a Soprod A10 base with a regulating organ operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and has a power reserve of 42 hours. Most importantly, the timepiece is embellished with the Vida Loca Choppers logo: an unmistakable skull wearing a crown. The logo is engraved by hand and placed on a black dial nestled in the brand’s emblematic honeycomb dial.





The idea came following a meeting between Joachim Besomi, our Master Watchmaker, who is a passionate motorcyclist, and Sébastien Mottier, one of the owners of Vida Loca Choppers, and Manu Vionnet, founder of Vida Loca Choppers, who are both passionate about watchmaking. The HAUTLENCE team immediately loved the rock’n’roll project. As it happens, Sébastien and Manu share some of the brand’s core values and share the need to break the mold and innovate in the fields of fine mechanics and design.
For those of you in Switzerland, Vida Loca Choppers plan on organising an event in Bex to introduce the watch to the bikers. It will be the perfect occasion for fans, bloggers and journalists dedicated to the watchmaking industry to have a closer look at Vida Loca Choppers’ customised designs.

La Chaux-de-Fonds, March 2016 - In 2004, HAUTLENCE shook the world of watchmaking by revolutionising the way we tell the time. In 2016, HAUTLENCE offers a new vision of time altogether: LABYRINTH, the watchmaker’s invention that does not tell the time.



HAUTLENCE is stopping time. Through the Playground collection, HAUTLENCE brings new chronometric element to the table, extending beyond the original goal of telling time. In an increasingly connected world where everything, including the time, is available at the push of a button, the Playground collection plays with the idea of absolute disconnect. Immersing yourself in the game provides a very necessary and pleasant slowness.
LABYRINTH is the first model from this collection, a useless yet entirely essential object: a game of skill worn on the wrist, a portable labyrinth requiring absolute concentration and skill. It is a flashback to childhood where we allowed ourselves time to let our imaginations run wild and cut ourselves off from the rest of the world. The game is pulled from Sandro Reginelli’s youth, co-founder and CEO of HAUTLENCE, as a reminder of the out-dated games he played when he visited his grandparents when time came to a halt itself.
LABYRINTH may not tell the time; however, it is perfectly aligned with the excellence in watchmaking that is embedded in HAUTLENCE’s DNA. Moving the crown activates a clever mechanical lift, which feeds the ball onto the board using a camshaft system visible through the transparent backing. The maze-like dial is carved in solid gold with a forged platinum ball. The titanium case is rectangular, going back to the brand’s roots. LABYRINTH is the ultimate luxury product, made according to the most authentic watchmaking traditions and using only the finest materials.



In a world dictated by time, HAUTLENCE has launched the Playground collection, a collection of mechanical games in an attempt to buy stolen time. The collection is due to expand in the future and is guaranteed to surprise you, again and again: nothing less than what you would expect from a collection of never-ending time games.

LA CHAUX-DE-FONDS, March 2016 – The futuristic Bronze Age: HAUTLENCE unveils its fourth variant of the VORTEX model: VORTEX BRONZE
VORTEX is the second HAUTLENCE model under the Concepts d’Exception collection and has made quite an impression through the combination of avant-garde watchmaking techniques and its futuristic design. It features a self-winding HL2.0 mechanical calibre with half-trailing hours displayed by a chain, retrograde minutes and a power-reserve indicator. The cage of the regulating organ rotates 60 degrees every 60 minutes, turning on itself to avoid any lack of precision due to the effects of gravity. The revolutionary timepiece features three patents. The masterpiece of mechanical work is visible through the openwork design of the case, showcasing six futuristic sapphire crystals inspired by the architecture of the piece. True to their reputation, HAUTLENCE have, once again, reinterpreted reading time.





The innovative titanium-cased VORTEX model was the first of what is now a true collection. Following the red gold VORTEX 02 and VORTEX PRIMARY, a stained-glass window cathedral with three-dimensional windows straight from Eric Cantona’s mind, here is the fourth variant: VORTEX BRONZE. As the name suggests, the case is sculpted in bronze, a noble alloy of copper and tin, a metal singled out due to its living finish. This choice of metal will mean that each of the 8 pieces of the limited edition collection will take on a patina distinctive to the way it is integrated into the owner’s life. It is a unique relationship where man and VORTEX evolve together over time.
