Baselworld 2019: Oris Aquis

Как всегда с большим удовольствием хожу на Орис. Много, разнообразно и вкусно. Начну с линейки Aquis, здесь больше всего новинок, и, сорри, что пресс-релизы только на английском.

Oris Big Crown Pointer Date 80th Anniversary Edition

Цитата:
In 1938, Oris introduced a pioneering watch for pilots. It had an oversized crown so that glove-wearing airmen could easily adjust it, and an unusual complication – a date indicated by a central pointer hand. The aim behind it was to create a beautiful, high-quality, reasonably priced timekeeper that would be reliable and easy to use, even in hostile conditions. Little could the independent Swiss watchmaker have known at the time that eight decades later, the Big Crown Pointer Date would not only continue to fulfil that ambition, but also that it would have become one of the most recognisable of all watch designs, an icon for the generations.

‘Designs come and go, but the Big Crown Pointer Date has endured and keeps getting stronger,’ says Oris’s Honorary Chairman, Dr Rolf Portmann, who shares his experiences of the Big Crown on page 6. ‘It’s become an Oris signature and a symbol of how strong the company’s heritage and brand are.’ To mark the 80th anniversary of this landmark watch, Oris has created the Big Crown Pointer Date 80th Anniversary Edition, a special piece with a 40mm case, fluted bezel and oversized crown cast in bronze, and a striking green dial. Oris has chosen bronze for the case material in part because of its current popularity, but also because it’s a utilitarian material that tells the story of Oris’s industrial approach to watchmaking. Bronze patinates naturally as it oxidises, so that each watch will take on a unique finish over time. The deep green of the dial also has a natural feel, complementing the bronze case. The combination of materials and colours is symbolic of the watch’s design heritage, Oris’s rich mechanical watchmaking history, and the company’s natural location in Switzerland’s beautiful Waldenburg Valley.

No watch tells the historic tale of independent Swiss watchmaker Oris quite like the iconic Big Crown Pointer Date. It’s a potent symbol of Oris’s philosophy, and some say that without it Oris might not enjoy its current status as a leader in Swiss Made mechanical watches. Since Oris was founded in 1904, its philosophy has always been to create watches that make sense, that serve a real purpose and that can be industrially produced to the highest standards and sold at reasonable prices. Introduced in 1938, the Big Crown Pointer Date fulfilled that timeless brief. In the years since, it has remained in constant production, surviving wars, the advent of quartz and countless passing fashions to become Oris’s signature design.
Back in the 1930s, Oris was a fast-growing company, with seven production sites in and around the picturesque Swiss village of Hölstein, where the company is still based today. The Big Crown Pointer Date was a milestone watch for the company, introducing the pointer date function into the collection and offering pilots a genuinely useful tool. Production of the Big Crown Pointer Date continued into the 1960s, when Oris swelled to become one of the world’s 10 largest watch brands, employing 800 people and producing 1.2 million watches and clocks a year. The 1970s and 1980s were devastating for the watch industry, which suffered 60,000 job losses and the closure of 1,000 companies as the impact of cheap quartz movements took its toll on traditional watchmaking. Oris suffered too, but by the mid-1980s it was resurgent. The Big Crown Pointer Date had been a collection mainstay throughout what became known as the Quartz Crisis, and when Oris came to look for a watch that would reignite interest in the company, there was only one choice – the Big Crown Pointer Date. The eternal value of its design and functionality made it the perfect vehicle. And it worked, going on to become the centrepiece of the Oris collection. ‘In the late 1980s, the Big Crown Pointer Date was put centre stage as a symbol of Oris’s heritage and longevity,’ says Oris’s co-CEO Rolf Studer. ‘It played a pivotal role in helping Oris rebuild after the troubles of the Quartz Crisis. It sums up the Oris story.’
Oris Dive Control Limited Edition

Цитата:
Oris returns to the deep with the Dive Control Limited Edition, an evolution of the independent Swiss company’s high-performance ProDiver watch, made for professional divers. The watch has a 51mm case cast in lightweight Grade 2 titanium and coated in highly scratch-resistant black DLC. It features the Oris-patented Rotation Safety System, or RSS, a signature Oris device that securely locks the uni-directional rotating bezel in place during a dive. The new watch also features a 60-minute chronograph counter at 12 o’clock, with key detailing in highly legible yellow. Only 500 will be made.

The Oris Dive Control Limited Edition was developed in partnership with Roman Frischknecht (pictured, left), a Swiss commercial diver who spends his working life deep underwater, servicing the subsea industry. Working with Roman, Oris developed the patented Rotation Safety System, or RSS, which features on every ProDiver and is designed to lock a watch’s diving bezel securely in place during a dive. This innovative device has become an Oris signature.
The watch has a number of features that elevate it above standard diver’s watches. First, it has an oversized 51 mm case that’s cast in lightweight, black DLC-coated Grade 2 titanium and that’s water-resistant to 100 bar (1,000 metres). In testing, Oris’s engineers actually pressure tested the Dive Control Limited Edition to an astonishing 125 bar to ensure it would perform in the most demanding conditions. To maximise legibility, the dial is oversized, too. The bezel, complete with the RSS system, has a scratch and fade-resistant ceramic top ring. The hands, hour markers and zero marker on the bezel are all filled with Super-LumiNova®. Oris’s designers have used high-contrast yellow details to indicate critical information because yellow is one of the most visible colours underwater. It also has an automatic helium escape valve, a device useful to Roman and his colleagues who live in heliox atmosphere during a saturation dive. Helium atoms are smaller than atoms of oxygen and can enter a watch. Without the escape valve to release these particles, they could damage the watch once the diver reaches regular air pressure again.
Oris Aquis Date Diamonds

Цитата:
Oris is pleased to introduce one of the most glamorous watches it has ever created, the Aquis Date Diamonds. The bezel of this elegant mechanical timepiece is set with 43 diamonds (totalling 1.075 carats) and a single dark blue sapphire as a dive time indicator. These complement the 11 diamond-set hour markers on the watch’s blue sunray dial and its blue satin strap. As well as being a sparkling evening accessory, the new Aquis Date Diamonds doubles as a technical instrument. It’s also a high-performance diver’s watch, capable of keeping time accurately at depths up to 30 bar (300 metres) – perfect for women who live life adventurously.
Oris Aquis Date Relief

Oris and expedition swimmer Ernst Bromeis are going their own way to raise awareness of the importance of water, with the release of the Oris Aquis Date Relief, a high-quality diver’s watch

For many years, Oris has been campaigning to protect and conserve the world’s oceans as part of a mission to bring change for the better. But we continue to see signs that there is so much work still to do. Together with our customers and retail and media partners, we want to bring meaningful change to the state of the world’s water. In that vein, we are proud to introduce the Oris Aquis Date Relief into our collection of highperformance Aquis diver’s watches, and a new partnership with the expedition swimmer and water ambassador Ernst Bromeis. Ernst took the Oris Aquis Date Relief to Lake Baikal with photographer Maurice Haas for a preparation swim ahead of his 2019 project ‘The Blue Miracle’, which will see him swim across a number of lakes, including Lake Baikal, the world’s largest freshwater lake, to raise awareness of the world’s water. The Oris Aquis Date Relief is inspired by the colour and feeling of water. The grey dial recalls the colour of a stormy sea, while the watch’s signature diving scale numerals in relief are a reminder of the texture of water, as well as its elemental role in all life. The watch shares its architecture and performance values with the Oris Aquis Date.
It has a 43.50 mm (1.713 inches) stainless steel case with a uni-directional rotating diver’s bezel and is water-resistant to 30 bar (300 metres). It comes on a choice of straps or a metal bracelet, and its sapphire crystal sits over a dial decorated with applied hour markers, which, like the hour and minutes hands, are filled with luminescent Super-LumiNova®. Its Swiss Made automatic mechanical movement provides it with a central seconds hand – in urgent red – and a date, seen through a window at 6 o’clock. Oris and Ernst are going their own way through this project to educate thousands of people about the need to conserve the world’s water – before it’s too late.
Oris Aquis Date

Цитата:
The Oris Aquis is recognised around the world as a quality Swiss Made diver’s watch that offers class-leading performance. For the first time, it’s now available with a green dial and bezel in a 39.50 mm case, a versatile size that will transfer from desk to beach and back again with ease. Despite the slimness and gentle ergonomics of its case, it’s hugely robust and water-resistant to an impressive 30 bar (300 metres). Its diver’s watch credentials continue with a screw-down crown with protection and a uni-directional rotating bezel, which is enhanced by a scratch-resistant ceramic insert, in this instance in green to partner the dial. It’s available on a stainless steel metal bracelet, or a black or dark brown leather strap, all with extending folding clasps.
Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition III и Clean Ocean Limited Edition

Цитата:
Oris is proud to introduce the Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition III, a diver’s watch created in partnership with the pioneering Reef Restoration Foundation

Another watch tied to the world’s oceans…? It would be easy to write off the next chapter in Oris’s mission to play a part in bringing change for the better (it’s going to take all of us), but the Oris Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition III is not just another
‘good cause’ watch. As the name suggests, this is the third watch Oris has linked to the world’s largest and most diverse reef system (it’s so big it can be seen from space, and tip-to-toe it’s 2,600 km long), but since our last Great Barrier Reef watch, the situation has far from improved. In fact, it’s got worse. Two hot summers in 2016 and 2017 led to back-toback coral bleaching events, leaving vast areas of reefs all over the world devastated. How serious is this? The Great Barrier Reef is around 8,000 years old and home to 1,500 species of fish, more than 400 types of hard coral, a third of the world’s soft corals, and six of the world’s seven species of threatened marine turtles. We have a collective responsibility to look after it. Oris is not alone in recognising the scale of the problem. The independent Swiss watch company has partnered with a non-profit social enterprise set up in 2016, the Reef Restoration Foundation. Using knowledge shared by the Oris-backed Coral Restoration Foundation, the foundation has begun a coral planting project off
Fitzroy Island near Cairns. The programme is in its infancy, but with support from individuals and companies such as Oris – which installed its first coral tree off Fitzroy Island in 2018, a milestone for the company in its mission to bring change for the better – it has the potential to make a significant positive difference to some affected areas of the Great Barrier Reef. In partnership with the foundation, Oris has created the Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition III, a diver’s watch based on the legendary Oris Aquis. The new model, limited to 2,000 pieces, has a gradient blue dial and an aqua blue ceramic insert in its uni-directional rotating diver’s bezel, recalling the colours of the reef waters. Inside its 43.50 mm stainless steel case is an automatic movement that provides it with a small seconds and a circular date window. It’s water-resistant to 30 bar (300 metres).

Oris is proud to introduce the Clean Ocean Limited Edition, a watch made in partnership with a pioneering new ocean conservation organisation turning plastic into energy

The statistics surrounding plastic in our ocean make for difficult reading. The United Nations Environment Programme calculates that more than 8 million tonnes of plastic leak into the ocean every year. That’s the equivalent of one garbage truck every minute. The UN believes 80 per cent of ocean litter is made of plastic, and that the costs to marine ecosystems is $8 billion. According to some experts, by 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish, and an estimated 99 per cent of all seabirds will have ingested plastic. For too long, the world has turned a blind eye to this deeply troubling situation, but it’s now getting to the point where human life is under threat. Because of our position in the food chain, we are consuming dangerous substances – toxic materials stick to microplastics eaten by the fish that end up in our supermarkets. It’s time to turn the tide. It’s time to change the course of the Earth’s environmental history, before it’s too late. Oris has been investing in and working with leading marine conservation organisations for a number of years. The independent Swiss watch company has a stated mission to bring change for the better and has adopted the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Now, Oris is proud to announce a new partnership with Pacific Garbage Screening, a pioneering young organisation that’s developing technology that will help keep the world’s water clean by capturing plastic before it enters the ocean. To highlight the partnership, Oris is also introducing the Clean Oceans Limited Edition, a version of the high-performance Aquis diver’s watch. It’s water-resistant to 30 bar (300 metres), and comes with a gradient blue dial and a uni-directional rotating bezel with an aqua blue ceramic insert, symbolising the beauty and importance of water. A further symbol of what the watch represents comes in the form of a medallion made of recycled PET plastic set into the watch’s case back. Each of the 2,000 pieces produced will be presented in special boxes made of environmentally friendly algae with recycled plastic inlays.
‘The Oris Clean Oceans Limited Edition is a symbol of our commitment to ridding the world’s oceans of plastic,’ said Oris Joint Chief Executive Rolf Studer. ‘Oris continues to work with agencies for positive change, and we’re delighted to be working with Pacific Garbage Screening, whose innovative project will bring significant change for the better, in keeping with Oris’s mission.’
Oris Aquis GMT Date

Цитата:
For the first time, Oris has equipped its high-performance Aquis GMT diver’s watch with a bidirectional rotating bezel engraved with a 24-hour scale. The significance of this is that the watch can now show the time in three separate time zones simultaneously – one via the conventional central hour and minute hands; a second via the yellow-tipped central hand; and a third read off against the bezel. Its 43.50 mm stainless steel case is water-resistant to 30 bar (300 metres), it has a screw-down crown with protection, and its range of straps and a metal bracelet all come with extending folding clasps for wearing over a wetsuit.
Oris Aquis Date

Цитата:
The Oris Aquis is a high-performance diver’s watch, relied on by divers all over the world. Following a recent case design evolution, it’s also a stylish watch with a svelte silhouette that can transition seamlessly from beach to bar to boardroom. Oris has taken that philosophy a step further with this beach-inspired 36.50 mm version of the watch, a piece aimed squarely at elegant, sporty, highachieving women. The insert of its uni-directional rotating bezel is made of a gold ceramic composite called cermet, its sunray brown dial is inspired by the soft, calming colour of sand, and it comes on a dark brown satin strap. Meanwhile, it boasts the same demanding diver’s watch specifications the Aquis is known for, its stainless steel case offering water resistance to 30 bar (300 metres).

Цитата:
Oris’s high-performance Aquis diver’s watch has been given a cool, fresh finish with a mint-grey gradient dial and a grey tungsten bezel insert. At 39.50 mm in diameter, the Oris Aquis is at its most versatile. It’s easy to wear and slips naturally under a cuff, just as over a wetsuit, thanks to the extension system on its stainless steel metal bracelet. On top of that, it’s also a highperformance diver’s watch, offering the robust architecture and critical functionality a diver needs when at depth. Its stainless steel case is water-resistant to 30 bar (300 metres), and its automatic mechanical movement provides it with a sweeping central seconds hand with a ‘lollipop’ segment filled with luminescent Super-LumiNova® to show the watch is running. The hands and hour markers are also filled with Super-LumiNova®, making the watch highly legible underwater. It’s also available on a stylish grey leather strap.

"Альпинист" хорош.
Остальные не впечатлили. Но это меня. Кому-то, думаю, понравятся.
