Oris Divers Sixty-Five

The Oris diver’s Sixty-Five story is given a fresh spin with a new bi-colour model, the steel and bronze ‘Bico’. The Divers Sixty-Five holds a special place in Oris’s collection of diver’s watches. It’s based on the first watch Oris made for divers in 1965. Today’s iteration, while faithful to the original design, is manufactured using state-of-the-art techniques and materials, so that for example the domed glass is now made of scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and the mechanical movement upgraded to a precision-engineered Swiss Made automatic. But the spirit of the pioneering original lives on, particularly through the use of bronze in the bracelet and bezel. Bronze is an industrial, utilitarian material and symbolic of Oris’s ‘form follows function’ watch design philosophy.

The first Oris diver’s watch of 1965 made some significant promises. It was designed to equip a diver with a functional, dependable tool watch that would perform reliably in the hazardous conditions found underwater. That bold, utilitarian ethos is celebrated in this contemporary update of that same watch, reborn as the Oris Divers Sixty-Five, with the addition of a bronze outer ring to the watch’s uni-directional rotating bezel. Bronze is a functional, durable material that patinates naturally with age, and it tells the story of Oris’s industrial roots and its close relationship with nature. But it also gives this 42.00 mm version of the Divers Sixty-Five a chic twist, in keeping with contemporary trends. Not that this watch is limited to being ‘of the moment’ – its corrosionresistant stainless steel case, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass and water resistance to 100 metres make it a timeless, reliable piece of equipment that, where properly maintained, will serve its owner for generations.

Oris Big Crown ProPilot Timer GMT

Oris is pleased to introduce the next-generation Big Crown ProPilot Timer GMT. The highfunctioning new watch features an updated ProPilot case, now slimmed down to sit more elegantly on the wrist. Its headline feature is its GMT function, which provides a second time zone via a red-tipped central hand, but it also offers a bi-directional rotating bezel for timing events, and a fabric strap option made of Ventile, a Swiss Made weather-resistant woven cotton fabric first developed for the British Royal Air Force during the Second World War. The watch’s robust 44.00 mm stainless steel case accommodates a clean, open dial with large applied numerals that can be read at a glance while piloting an aircraft. Among the watch’s many details is an upgraded version of Oris’s iconic ‘Lift’ seat-belt-inspired clasp, which no longer needs to be folded to be secured. A true professional pilot’s watch.

Oris 40th Squadron Limited Edition

Oris is proud to announce the 40th Squadron Limited Edition, a watch that celebrates a new partnership with 40th Squadron Heli, the Belgian Air Force search and rescue team. The squadron was formed in 1974, and in nearly five decades of service has saved countless lives. Oris honours the squadron with this limited edition version of the Big Crown ProPilot, a 45.00 mm stainless steel watch coated in grey PVD. The model’s military-inspired detailing reflects the orange, green and beige livery of the Sea King helicopters the 40th Squadron operates, and the case back is engraved with the squadron’s insignia. It’s powered by an automatic mechanical movement that provides it with big day and date indications, it comes on a military green fabric strap, and it’s water-resistant to 10 bar (100 metres). Only 500 pieces will be made.

Oris Big Crown Pointer Date

The rebirth of Oris’s iconic Big Crown Pointer Date is symbolic of both the independent Swiss watchmaker’s rich watchmaking heritage and also the broader revival of simpler, more traditional watch styles. The story behind Oris’s most celebrated model begins in 1938 when it was introduced for pilots. The oversized crown meant the watch could be easily adjusted even when wearing gloves. Its pointer date function has become an Oris signature and here sits over a deep red dial. This model has a 40mm case and comes on a vintage brown leather strap.

The Oris Big Crown Pointer Date is, without question, the most important watch in Oris’s rich history. First introduced in 1938 as a pilot’s watch, it has been a collection mainstay ever since, becoming Oris’s signature design. Its oversized crown was originally intended for gloved airmen but now serves a more aesthetic purpose, while the iconic pointer date function is now internationally recognised as a symbol of Oris’s mechanical inventiveness. The new 36mm bicolour version is more vintage in size and combines a stainless steel case and a bronze fluted bezel. These are paired strikingly with a deep blue dial.

Oris Artelier Date

The Oris Artelier family captures the spirit and artisanry of traditional watchmaking, and showcases the timeless style and quality engineering of a Swiss Made mechanical watch. While still offering the same calming personality common to the Artelier line, this 40.00 mm Date model adds a frisson of character with a blue guilloché dial and a brown leather strap made using environmentally friendly materials. The new model also offers an updated stainless steel bracelet with two filigreed threads running through it, designed to pick up on the dial’s elegant applied hour markers. Inside the watch is a Swiss Made automatic mechanical movement (visible through the watch’s exhibition case back) that provides it with a central sweep-seconds hand and a date function, seen through an aperture at 6 o’clock.

Oris Artix GT Skeleton

The parallels between racecars and mechanical watches have inspired watch designers for generations. Oris produced its first motor sport watch in 1970 and continues its driving watch tradition with the launch of the Artix GT Skeleton. The watch has an open dial exposing the inner workings of its Swiss Made automatic mechanical movement, like the hood of a car being lifted to reveal an engine bay. The Artix GT may have oil in its blood, but it’s also a stylish, sophisticated piece that sits just as well under a suit cuff as under race overalls.
