FREAK II's no longer available for delivery to AD's because only two UN techs can make the Freak II--and they and the company doesn't have the time/recourses to continue production at this time (given the difficulty making the Freak; repairs of Freaks; and other complications they are work on--new and earlier versions).
The Freak is a very delicate instrument and normally-accepted tolerances do not apply. We work for some parts with tolerances of 2 or 3 microns. To observe what is going on in a working movement we installed a high speed camera in the factory. As the movement is virtually suspended from a pivot lodged in the crystal some movements got affected by minor shocks. Very minor differences in tolerances could cause stoppages.
