Fake watch demands: alarming rise on Internet

The demand for fake luxury watches is rising at an alarming rate on the Internet. Researches doubled between 2005 and 2006 for France alone. The demand for copied timekeepers now represents 21% of the researches for this type of product in France, 19% in Germany, 17% in the United States, 16% in the UK and 12% in Italy. 90% of the Internet researches are concentrated on five brands: Rolex, Tag Heuer, Omega, Cartier and Breitling. In addition to this, the Swiss horology federation (FH) evaluates the prejudice at 800 million francs per year and estimates that Internet only increases the phenomenon.
