In the year 2002, still simply named "Teutonia", the model with the large date function, in German 'Großdatum', gave impetus to a success story that has continued to this day.
Naturally, this Mühle features several stunning innovations: In addition to the silver-coloured dial with the characteristic guilloche finish, one immediately notices the midnight blue face bearing a grooved finish. Both models are each limited to 250 pieces.
In addition, the timepiece is certified according to the German chronometer standard in the Glashütte observatory. Commensurate with the 145-year tradition of our family-owned company, we have only the highest standards for our chronometers in terms of precision and reliability. The Teutonia II Großdatum Chronometer thus features a Mühle movement meticulously tested and regulated in six positions, with a proprietary rotor and our patented, especially shockproof woodpecker neck regulation, along with a matching balance cock. Following the production and perfection of all components, the assembly and regulation of the movement, with the chronometer certificate, the new Teutonia receives its fount of honour, so to speak.

The attentive wearer is rewarded by a timepiece that is factory-fitted with a combination of blued screws, ruby-red jewels and a fine ribbing on the traditional three-quarter plate. The meticulously finished dial is also a true feast for the eyes. For, it is lacquered five times and polished multiple times. Whereas the M 29 Classic and the M 29 Classic Kleine Sekunde models display the time down to the exact second, the new one-hand M 29 Classic Einzeiger model is geared to the time measurements of everyday life. Whether it's six-thirty or a quarter past three: Those who don't keep track of time down to the second will find our one-hand watch to be an ideal companion.
Like the historic one-hand measuring instruments, it features a two-echelon scale. On the inside scale, the time can be read in 15-minute intervals. With the aid of a second scale on the flange, the time can be read somewhat more precisely if necessary: the ten-minute intervals are represented by longer indices, whilst the extremely fine indices between them show the time in two-minute intervals.

Large observer watches, the German term for these timepieces being ‘Beobachtungsuhren’, were a vital element in traditional pilot gear. They were worn by on-board navigators and thus had to be extremely precise, reliable and easily readable. Using a combination of these watches, mostly measuring 55 millimetres in diameter, and an octant, it was possible to determine the position of the airplane whilst in flight.
Traditionally, observer watches from Glashütte featured two different dial versions. Like the Terrasport I, the first had large numerals with a minute scale on the outer edge of the face. The second version was equipped with a small inner hour circle and a separate outer minute circle. This dial arrangement highlights the time intervals necessary for navigation, enabling the navigator to take an extremely quick time reading. The Terrasport I Beobachter is inspired by this design – which means that now both dial versions of the traditional "Nav B" watches can be found in our squadron of pilot watches.
